Fade Out Again...

Wednesday, October 09, 2002

This is going to be a very long post, I'm sorry. This is an e-mail that I received this morning. It's funny. I replied to it and asked what I have to do to be a part of this guys business proposal...
I suppose it's a really sad attempt at a scam... you would think that he could do better.

From ;Mr Bill Sebastian,
Abidjan,
Cote d'Ivoire.

Dear Sir

I write to solicit your assistance and support to
enable me executes a very lucrative and high profiting
business transaction. I am very confidence that with
trust and understanding, we can be able to execute
this business to our mutual benefit and believe that
you will not let down the trust and confidence I am
willing to repose in you.

I work for an Ivorien based public international firm,
as the Human affairs manager (OXGOOD HOLDINGS.). On
the 17th -20th of Sept, 2002 a business seminar was
held in BOUAKE Cote Divoire of which I attended. While
at this Seminar, I was opportune to meet a renowned
millionaire farmer /agriculturist specialized in
large-scale cattle dealer, exporter of beef to various
part of Africa and the rest of the world. This
personality I am referring to is known as Alhaji A.U.
DANGOTE, president of Alhaji A.U. DANGOTE On getting
to know my profession took me into confidence by
informing me about the huge purchase of a particular
but very important and scarce vaccine medicine for his
cattle. He informed me that he buys this product at $
5,000.00 U.S. DOLLARS per carton, and that he mostly
buys to the excess of 200
cartons. He informed me that he was only asking me to
find out if my organization could source for him a
cheaper supplier considering the recent trend of falls
in the general price of beef in the world market that
is affecting his business.

Back in my office, I discussed this proposal with my
boss and he decided to handle the supply by himself. We
carried out a market research and discovered that we
could purchase this medicine somewhat cheaper at the
rate of $2,300.00 USD per carton. We decided to under
take this business our self by supplying to DANGOTE
FARM at $4.500.00 U.S. DOLLARS per carton of which The
Alhaji accepted. Owing to my role in the transaction,
I had an agreement with my boss to
receiving 15% of whatever gain from the total profit
after expenses is subtracted on each supply, But on
our first supply, after the receipt of payment, made
to my boss by DANGOTE FARM, he decided to renegade on
our agreement and refused to give me my share of the
15%, he gave me what he termed an appreciation of job
well done, I was disappointed and let down by his
greediness.Since then our relationship has been low
and uncompromising I have since accepted it as one of
life experiences. However, as God would have it,
recently, I intercepted a letter of request from
Alhaji DANGOTE asking my boss to supply him with 500
cartons of the same product, I ceased the letter and
decided to pay my boss back in his own coin by
personally contacting Alhaji DANGOTE and informed him
that I can introduce him to another
cheaper supplier/company of this medicine who is ready
to produce and supply him at $4,000.00 U.S. DOLLARS
only that the company policy is that they usually
receive 50% up front payment before supply. He was
very pleased because he will be having direct dealing
and the price of $4.000.00 U.S. DOLLARS is OK for him
so he is now waiting to be contacted by the supplier.

Please take note that we will be buying the medicine
with the advance payment of 50% up front payment which
will be made to us by DANGOTE FARM’S MANAGEMENT at the
rate of $2,300.00 U.S. DOLLARS and sell to them at the
rate of $4,000.00 U.S. DOLLARS. I will be entitled to
receive 15% of the total profit we make after the
deduction of all expenses.

If you are interested and capable of handling this
supply with me, kindly get back to me urgently through
my e-mail so that I can furnish you with the contacts
of the company that produce this medicine and that of
Alhaji A.U. DANGOTE. On no account should the Alhaji
know that we are just ordinary supplier as you will be
acting as the company’s producer of this medicine to
enable us receive this 50% up front payment.

I am looking forward to the success of this supply and
for future commencement of this business between you
and I.

Yours sincerely,
Mr. Bill Sebastian
